Terms & Conditions


General

  • K9 Adventures will do everything possible to ensure the security and safety of your home, however K9 Adventures will not be held accountable to any burglaries or damage caused by third parties to your property or animals.

  • The client will provide K9 Adventures with an emergency contact who can make responsible decisions relating to the animal in an emergency situation. If the contact is not available then K9 Adventures has the right to consult with a veterinary surgeon and make a decision in the best interest of the animal.

  • K9 Adventures is not liable to pay towards any cost of veterinary treatment for the illness of an animal or harm that comes to animal when not in their care. Where appropriate or possible K9 Adventures advises clients get insurance for their animal/s.

  • K9 Adventures will need the details of the client’s choice of veterinary practice that they wish their pet to be taken to; in the case of illness/injury. Should this practice be closed or unavailable, K9 Adventures will seek advice from its preferred veterinary practice or out of hours practice.

  • Should you wish to cancel the use of K9 Adventures services; 1 months notice is required, unless pre-agreed at the commencement of the provided service.

  • If your animal is not neutered/spayed, K9 Adventures will not be held responsible if your animal impregnates or is impregnated by another animal.

  • K9 Adventures has Pet Business Insurance with Lloyd’s Syndicate 2001 to cover animals that in their care; this covers any injury to an animal whilst in K9 Adventures care. The insurance cover also includes Public Liability Insurance and Key Cover insurance.


Dog walking

  • Please let K9 Adventures know of any changes to your agreed weekly walks before the appointment. This should be via text message or email where appropriate. If extra walks are required at short notice please don’t hesitate to contact K9 Adventures and we will do our best to accommodate you.

  • Any walks cancelled within 3 days of the appointment will be charged 50% of the agreed tariff. If a cancellation is made within 24 hours of the appointment the full agreed amount will be charged.

  • All walks will take place between 10am and 4pm unless otherwise agreed. K9 Adventures will do their best to accommodate specific times.

  • Walks are either 30 or 60 minutes. Whilst all efforts will be made for dogs to have a minimum of 30 or 60 minutes, on busier days 5 minutes of this time may be taken to allow time for the picking up and dropping off of your animal/s. This does not include travel time, but does include preparing the animal/s for the walk and making sure they are comfortable and have fresh water when they are dropped back home.

  • In cases of extreme weather conditions, walks may be shorter. These include extreme heat, snow/ice and thunder storms. Where possible the additional time will be made up with the animal/s within its home environment. Should this need to take place you will be informed as soon as possible.

  • Invoices will be sent out via email or a letter delivered by hand on the last day of the month, once all walks for that month are complete. Invoices must be paid within 7 days of receiving the invoice. If invoices are not paid in time then an additional charge of £2 per day will be added to the invoice until it is paid. After a further 7 days (total 14 days) no further services will be provided until payment is received. However, £2 per day will continue to be added to the invoice.

  • K9 Adventures cannot walk dogs that are not up-to-date with vaccinations, flea and worm treatments.

  • If your dog has diarrhoea, sickness, conjunctivitis, a runny nose, a cough or any other signs of illness; which could potentially be passed to another dog; K9 Adventures must be informed as soon as possible. Provisions will be made, by prior arrangement, for any animals showing these symptoms. Should a dog become ill whilst on a walk, the dog will be returned home and the owner will be contacted.

  • Should K9 Adventures feel a dog is not suitable for walking with other dogs, this will be discussed with the owner and 1-2-1 walks can be arranged.

  • It is the client’s responsibility to provide the correct harness, collar, and/or lead for their dog. If K9 Adventures feel that the harness/collar/lead is not fit-for-purpose; this will be discussed with the client.

  • Should a dog come loose from, or is harmed by its harness/collar/lead, K9 Adventures will not be liable.

  • K9 Adventures reserves right to refuse to walk any animal in season. If this is the case, K9 Adventures will discuss this with you and suggest possible alternatives.


Home visits

  • If you require K9 Adventures to feed your animal, then all feeding materials must be provided.

  • A deposit of 50% of the agreed cost of the service will be required when the key/s are collected before the service commences. The remainder will be collected when the key/s are returned; unless the client is making use of another K9 Adventure service, in which case the cost will be added to the invoice.


House Sitting

  • If you require K9 Adventures to feed your animal, then all feeding materials must be provided. K9 Adventures will ensure your animal/s needs are met throughout the day and night, however there may be periods of time where we will be required to attend alternative appointments.

  • A deposit of 50% of the agreed cost of the service will be required when the key/s are collected before the service commences. The remainder will be collected when the key/s are returned; unless the client is making use of another K9 Adventure service, in which case the cost will be added to the invoice.
